Biography
About Sue Townsend
As a child I loved painting and drawing and at school but never really thought about it seriously. I have dabbled in art for most of my life but not until in my 60's did I take it up seriously and take a foundation course and a further 4 years with well known artistTrevor Waugh. Taking art seriously has given me a new lease of life and I thoroughly enjoy my "work".
I paint in a contemporary impressionistic style using colour and light to depict my very broad base of subject maatter. I use oil, acrylic and watercolour but also love drawing and sketching and I have a sketch book and field box in the car together with a well worn digital camera to capture those "I must paint that" moments. With a brush in my hand I am never bored !
I run local painting groups, give demonstrations and workshops. During the summer I take day excursions to local beauty spots and country houses. I also take small groups to France and Venice on painting holidays and visit other cultural cities and places in Europe. See the Events page for further information.
I exhibit locally and nationally and have exhibited abroad in France, Majorca and Malta. My customers are from many different countries including the USA. I travel whenever I get the opportunity for renewed inspiration.
"A talented and dedicated artist who is well known locally and who has exhibited nationally and in other countries."
